The Carding Shed

All things end, and an end to all things...

Well, some things anyway.

Golden Fleece Press isn't going anywhere. We're still just as dedicated to bringing you new and exciting stories for kids and adults. We're still just as excited about our upcoming projects--and we hope you will be too.

So what's going away?

Without spending too much time on the in's and out's of the publishing business, the sad fact is that the profit margin on journals is woefully thin. We knew that, and were prepared for it. Our journals had a good run, and we got to work with some amazing artists and writers through them.

But even more than the amount of money it took to sustain those projects, the time and effort required had become just too dear. We'd rather let them go and have that energy available for other endeavors. Our back issues will still be available in the web shop for a limited time--probably until we've sold the print copies we have--so gobble them up while you can.

And stick around, we can't wait to show you what's in the pipes.

Come for the puns, stay for the sparkly sheep butt.

April here at Golden Fleece Press was the Month of All Shows and therefore we didn't get much of a chance to talk to you fine people here online (we were out there in the real world talking to you in person).

We took the first week of May for Decontamination (we love you all, but ConCrud is a thing) and now it's time to get back to the sheering! So, what exciting things do we have in May?

Summer Reads Announcement!
If we can find a guinea pig, we may do an actual live video announcement and introduce you to all our summer projects at once!

Fandom Universe: Indelible Ink!
The ever-changing deadline is eventually going to have to firm, but it hasn't yet. If you've got an essay for us about Harry Potter, there's still time to get it in!

Guest Blogging!
Every week in June and July The Carding Shed will bring you a new Author Guest, or interview. Watch here at the end of May, and we'll release the schedule for that. We may be evil and make them write some short fiction to go with their guest spot...

We spent a large part of April with this view. Nugget is much more photogenic from the front...

But there Sam is, bleeding all over Jamie's porch. Along with a new, keen understanding of pain, Sam is suddenly aware they might have underestimated the amount of trouble their enemies were willing to cause. If they get out of this alive it'll be a miracle.
